1. Who We Are

CHAPPIE is operated by Triarii LLC, a veteran-owned technology company. This Privacy Policy applies to the CHAPPIE application (available at v2.mychappie.com), the marketing website at mychappie.com, and any related services we provide.

2. Information We Collect

We collect only what is necessary to provide the CHAPPIE service:

• Account information: Name, email address, and organization when you register.
• Usage data: Interactions with the app (tasks, check-ins, scheduling) to provide the service.
• Conversational data: Journal entries and check-in responses you provide. This data is treated as strictly private and is never shared without your explicit consent.
• Device and technical data: IP address, browser type, and device identifiers for security and performance purposes.
• Contact form data: Name, email, and message when you submit our contact form.

We do not collect medical records, clinical diagnoses, or biometric data.

3. AI Service Providers

CHAPPIE's intelligent features — including chat responses, action item extraction, memory recall, and voice — are made possible by trusted third-party AI services. We disclose every third-party processor below, what data they receive, and the privacy commitments that protect you.

AWS Bedrock (Anthropic Claude)

Region: AWS GovCloud (US-West), us-gov-west-1.

What is sent: Your conversation messages, voice transcripts (when you use voice input), and contextual excerpts from your saved memories, plans, and profile that are relevant to the current conversation.

What it does: Generates CHAPPIE's AI responses using Anthropic's Claude language model, accessed exclusively through AWS Bedrock under AWS's enterprise data processing terms.

Privacy commitments:

• AWS Bedrock does not retain your inference inputs or outputs after a request completes.
• AWS Bedrock does not use customer prompts or outputs to train AI models.
• AWS GovCloud operates under FedRAMP High and DoD Impact Level 5 compliance frameworks.
• Data is encrypted in transit (TLS 1.2+) and at rest (AWS KMS).
• CHAPPIE has no direct relationship with Anthropic; all access is governed by the AWS Service Terms and AWS Data Processing Agreement.

OpenAI (Embeddings)

What is sent: Short text fragments — typically a sentence or paragraph — used to generate vector embeddings that power CHAPPIE's memory search.

What it does: Converts text fragments into numerical vectors so CHAPPIE can find semantically similar memories. OpenAI never sees your full conversations or aggregated history.

Privacy commitments:

• Per OpenAI's API data usage policy, API inputs are not used to train OpenAI models and are not retained beyond what is necessary to provide the service (deleted within 30 days unless required for abuse monitoring).
• Data is encrypted in transit.
• We send only the minimum text required to generate embeddings, never user identifiers.

AWS Polly (Voice Synthesis)

What is sent: Short text strings (CHAPPIE's spoken responses) for conversion to speech audio.

What it does: Synthesizes natural-sounding voice for CHAPPIE's audio responses using AWS Polly Neural voices.

Privacy commitments:

• AWS Polly does not retain text inputs after synthesis.
• AWS Polly does not use inputs to train models.
• Same AWS encryption and compliance posture as Bedrock.

Tavily (Live Web Search)

What is sent: Search queries that CHAPPIE generates when you ask about current information (news, weather, events, etc.). Queries are derived from your messages but typically reformulated as search terms.

What it does: Returns live web search results that CHAPPIE summarizes for you.

Privacy commitments:

• Search queries do not include user identifiers.
• Subject to Tavily's privacy policy (tavily.com/privacy).

4. How We Obtain Your Consent

Before any of these AI services receive your data, the CHAPPIE iOS app presents an in-app disclosure that names each processor, summarizes what data is sent, and requires you to explicitly tap “Continue” to opt in. You can review this disclosure anytime under Settings → AI & Privacy. If you decline, AI-powered features are disabled, but you may still use CHAPPIE in non-AI modes (where applicable).

5. How We Use Your Information

• To operate, maintain, and improve the CHAPPIE platform.
• To provide personalized readiness support, scheduling, and coaching.
• To route you to appropriate human support resources when thresholds indicate a need.
• To respond to your inquiries and support requests.
• To comply with applicable laws and government contract requirements.

6. Privacy-by-Design Principles

CHAPPIE is designed with privacy as a core requirement, not an afterthought:

• Individual data stays private. Your personal entries, check-ins, and state data are not visible to commanders, supervisors, or other users unless you explicitly share them.
• Aggregated signals are opt-in only. De-identified, aggregated unit-level data (e.g., general readiness trends) is only generated and shared with your explicit opt-in consent.
• No punitive use. CHAPPIE is not a surveillance tool. Data is never used punitively against individual users.
• Reversible reporting. Where reporting features exist, they are designed to be reversible and user-controlled.

7. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We may share data only in the following limited circumstances:

• Service providers: Trusted vendors who process data on our behalf (e.g., cloud hosting, analytics), bound by data processing agreements.
• Legal requirements: When required by law, court order, or government contract obligation.
• Safety: When disclosure is necessary to prevent imminent harm to you or others, consistent with applicable law.
• Business transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, with advance notice to users.

8. Data Security

We implement industry-standard technical and organizational measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit and at rest, access controls, and regular security reviews. No system is 100% secure; we will notify you of any breach as required by applicable law.

9. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting info@mychappie.com. Some data may be retained longer to comply with legal obligations or government contract requirements.

10. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you.
• Request correction of inaccurate data.
• Request deletion of your data.
• Object to or restrict certain processing.
• Data portability (receive your data in a machine-readable format).

11. Cookies and Tracking

The CHAPPIE marketing website uses minimal cookies for basic site functionality. We do not use third-party advertising cookies or cross-site tracking. The application may use session cookies necessary for authentication and security.

12. Children's Privacy

CHAPPIE is not directed at children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If you believe a minor has provided us with information, contact us and we will delete it promptly.

13. Government Contract Compliance

For deployments under government contracts, data handling is subject to the terms of the applicable contract, including any DFARS, FAR, or agency-specific requirements. Contract-specific data handling provisions supersede this general policy where applicable.

14. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. We will notify registered users of material changes by email or in-app notification. The effective date at the top of this page reflects the most recent update.
